Brunswick Unit 9 Auxiliary is proud to continue its tradition of quiet compassion through our Infant Hat Knitting Initiative—an ongoing effort to provide hand-knit or crocheted baby hats to local hospitals, shelters, and maternity wards. These hats aren’t just adorable. They represent care, comfort, and the touch of community for newborns who may enter the world with little more than a swaddle and a start.

🍼 Why It Matters:

Newborn hats help regulate body temperature, reduce the risk of heat loss, and are often one of the first signs of love a baby receives from the outside world. For families in need or in crisis, these little hats are more than just fabric—they’re a symbol of support from someone who cares.

🧵 How You Can Help:

• Knit or crochet from home—any soft baby-friendly yarn will do

No strict patterns—keep it simple and heartfelt

• Drop-off available at the Post on meeting nights or during open hours

• All skill levels welcome—from seasoned crafters to beginners

If you’d like to contribute but don’t knit or crochet, donations of soft yarns or baby-friendly materials are always appreciated!

Post 9 doors are open to the public and members on:

🕘 Mondays & Fridays: 9 AM – 4 PM

🕐 Wednesdays: 1 PM – 7 PM

🎉 Saturday Nights: Bingo Night! — a great time to meet the community, drop off items, and say hello

This project is also part of our Engage from Home initiative—so even if you can't be there in person, you can still make a meaningful impact from wherever you are.
