Bob, as he was affectionately known, embodied the spirit of service that defines our Post and the American Legion. A dedicated veteran, he began his military career by enlisting in the United States Navy right after high school, serving for three years. His commitment to country didn't end there—he continued in the Air National Guard as a communications officer, ultimately devoting 35 years to military service across branches. His love for travel and camaraderie stayed with him long after retirement, a testament to the lifelong bonds forged in uniform.

Beyond his service to nation, Bob was a master carpenter and builder whose skilled hands helped shape our local community. He took great pride in his craftsmanship, contributing to projects like The Brunswick News and Marshes Edge, always willing to lend a hand and do things the right way.

At the heart of Bob's life was his family. He and his loving wife, Mary, raised four children with unwavering pride, dependability, and warmth. He was known for being a steady presence—friendly, hardworking, and always ready to help. In his free time, Bob enjoyed bingo (especially with friends), attending auctions, traveling, and building impressive collections of baseball cards and pennies.

Bob was a valued member of American Legion Post 9, where he contributed to our shared mission of supporting veterans, their families, and the broader community. His presence at our events - especially Saturday night bingo, his stories from service, and his quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him here.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Beach; children Beth Cady (Paul), William Miller Beach, Joseph Clark Beach (Tony), Kayla Beach (Josh), and Eli Beach; brother Willard Beach; grandchildren Kristopher Beach, Leanne Beach, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A public visitation was held on December 22, 2025, followed by a Celebration of Life at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens on St. Simons Island, a fitting resting place for a man who cherished community and legacy.

Rest in peace, Bob. Your service, both in uniform and in life, will never be forgotten. We honor you, comrade.
