Brunswick, GA – October 31, 2025
The American Legion Post 9 is proud to announce the organizational launch of its very own American Legion Riders Chapter, a dedicated riding program that supports veterans, promotes community service, and honors patriotic traditions.

The Organizational Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Post 9 Home in Brunswick, immediately following standard Post business. This meeting is open to all members of the American Legion Family—Legionnaires, Sons, and Auxiliary—who are motorcycle enthusiasts or who simply want to be part of this mission-driven initiative.
Why the Riders?
The American Legion Riders (ALR) program brings together members of the Legion Family who share a love of motorcycles and service. Riders participate in local parades, veteran support missions, funeral escorts, and events that promote American values and honor our nation's heroes.
If you've ever felt the call to serve beyond meetings—on two wheels, in leather vests, or with a support crew behind the throttle—this is your moment.
What to Expect at the Meeting
Led by Post 9 Commander Wes Carico, the meeting will open with the Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation, Salute to Colors, and a reading of Resolution 288, affirming our collective commitment to POW/MIA recognition.
Topics will include:
ALR mission and values
Review of the Chapter Bylaws Draft
Introduction of the organizing committee
Membership eligibility and interest poll
Setting regular meeting dates and dues
Planning the first elections
Timeline for submitting charter paperwork
We are looking for at least five (5) eligible members of the Legion Family to officially charter the Chapter—and we are confident that number will be surpassed.
